City releases 2024 Water Quality Report
The city’s annual water quality report, based on data collected in 2024, is now available for residents to review.
You can access the report on the city’s website at battlecreekmi.gov/2024waterqualityreport. From the home page, navigate to the "I Want To..." tab, then select "View" and "Annual Water Quality Reports."
Hard copies of the report will be available in May. To request a copy, please call the Department of Public Works (269) 966-3343.
This annual report provides essential information about the source and quality of our drinking water. It explains where Battle Creek’s water comes from, provides updates on projects like the Verona Well Field rehabilitation and lead service line replacement, and presents the water sampling results from the past year.
While the 2024 Water Quality Report includes information about the exceedance of the total trihalomethanes (TTHM) water quality standard in the Emmett Township water distribution system, it does not cover the TTHM exceedance identified in the broader system, as this occurred in 2025. Customers were notified about this broader exceedance in a letter sent in March of this year. This omission is due to the timing of the reporting period and the quarterly sampling schedule.
The Environmental Protection Agency and the Safe Drinking Water Act mandate this annual water quality report, also known as a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), for public water suppliers serving the same population year-round.
