BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Battle Creek Fire Department invites the public to its ninth annual Fire Prevention Week open house on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Fire Station 1, located at 195 E. Michigan Ave.
Join the BCFD for hot dogs, games, a fire station tour, and prize drawings. The event is free and open to the public.
This event concludes the National Fire Protection Association’s weeklong fire prevention campaign, held from Oct. 6-12. This year’s theme is, “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You!” During the week, city fire crews will visit Battle Creek-area kindergarten classrooms to educate students on the importance of having working smoke alarms at home.
