[ARCHIVED] Emmett Township man killed in Bedford motorcycle crash

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A 64-year-old Emmett Township man died Thursday night following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Bedford Township. 

At approximately 9:37 p.m. on Aug. 21, Battle Creek police and LifeCare Ambulance responded to the 22000 block of M-37 for a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers found the motorcycle on fire, and the rider was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. 

No

 other vehicles or individuals were involved. A preliminary investigation indicates that speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors. 

The Bedford Township Fire Department responded to assist and helped extinguish the flames. 

The incident remains under investigation.
