Full Details: The Battle Creek Fire Department, police and LifeCare Ambulance responded to a residential structure fire on Union Street shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.

Car 3 arrived within three minutes to find fire and smoke coming from the rear of a two-story home. Rescue 2 and Engine 3 extended a hose line to extinguish the fire and searched for occupants on the first floor. Truck 1 and Engine 5 searched the second floor for any occupants and fire extension. Engine 4 established a water supply while Rescue 6 controlled the utilities and searched the basement.

The fire department confirmed that all occupants were out upon arrival, and no injuries occurred. Firefighters brought the fire under control within 12 minutes and contained it to the rear of the structure. Investigators believe the fire started outside of the building. The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
