More information: The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Riverview Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. Upon arrival, Car 3 found a ground fire that had spread to the front porch of a residential home. Engine 3 advanced a preconnected line to extinguish the fire, while Rescue 2 assisted with ventilation. Truck 1 ensured the fire hadn’t spread inside the home. The responding team contained the fire to the porch, and all other units were cleared from the call. The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
