No one reported injuries in a shots fired complaint Wednesday night in the central part of the city.
Police responded at about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Meachem Avenue and West Fountain Street for a shots fired complaint.
When officers arrived they found that gunshots had struck a vehicle. The woman driving said her ex-boyfriend had just shot at her. The car had two passengers; no one was injured.
Officers found several shell casings near where the car was hit.
Police believe this is a targeted situation and that there is no further danger to the community. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department also responded, and police continue to investigate.
