Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire at Pinnacle Care, 675 Wagner Drive, for a fire in an office. 

Car 3 arrived four minutes later to find nothing showing from the outside, and no evacuation in process. Truck 1 and Engine 3 entered to find light smoke in the hallway from a small fire in an office with fire suppression system activation. Rescue 2 controlled the fire sprinkler system. The fire was extinguished by the fire suppression system and smoke was contained to the office area. The structure was ventilated. No injuries were reported.

The fire was caused by an overheated portable patient/visitor temperature reading machine. The facility was on a monitored fire watch program due to the fire alarm system being out of service, and staff reported the fire. The Fire Inspector will investigate.
