[ARCHIVED] Code's no-cost paint program is back in 2024!

Do you have an outdoor painting project on your to-do list this summer? We can help!

We are offering up to 10 gallons of paint to neighbors inside the City of Battle Creek at no cost to you! We are excited to work with the Springfield Do-it Center to provide this program.

Here are the details you need to know:

  • There are no income requirements to participate.
  • You must own and live in your home, inside the City of Battle Creek limits.
  • You can receive up to 10 gallons of paint for your project, and must choose one of six colors: Façade (medium brown), Simply White, Zinc (dark gray), Sea Hazel (brown-olive), Sandalwood (dark yellow), and Titanium (light gray). 
    • Complete a program application. If you want to do this in person, please visit us at City Hall, Room 117, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. application in person to Room 117, place it in the blue drop box in the City Hall parking lot, or mail it to Code Compliance Paint Program, 10 N. Division St., Suite 117, Battle Creek, MI 49014.
    • This is for outdoor/exterior projects only. You must provide photos of the area(s) you will paint as part of the program.
    • When the project is done, please contact our Code staff at 269-966-3311 to schedule an inspection of the work.
    This program is available on a first come, first served basis. We provide the paint, and recipients must provide all other supplies and costs. The city does not provide painting services.

    If we approve your application, we will give you a voucher to pick up your paint at Springfield Do-it Center, 1583 W. Dickman Road.

    You must complete your painting project within 60 days of when we issue your voucher.
