Other information: All Battle Creek Fire Department units responded to a structure fire at 134 Pleasant Ave. Engine 4 was the first unit on the scene, and found smoke coming from the home. Engine 4 made an interior attack and quickly extinguished the fire. 

Rescue 2 and Truck 1 helped with fire control and life safety. No people were in the home at the time of the fire. Salvage and overhaul was performed. Four cats were found deceased in the basement. 

The fire is under investigation by the Battle Creek Fire Department Fire Marshal's Division.
