Other information: The Battle Creek Fire Department was dispatched to 35 Calhoun St. for a reported structure fire. Rescue 2 and Car 3 arrived within two minutes to find a motorcycle on fire outside the rear of the structure, with the exterior of the structure beginning to catch fire.
Rescue 2 quickly deployed a hose line to extinguish the fire, and then check for extension into the structure, while Car 3 assumed command. Engine 5 arrived to assist in checking for extension. Truck 1 assisted with ventilation.
The fire did not extend into the structure, due to the quick actions of the fire department. No injuries were reported. The motorcycle fire is suspicious and the Fire Marshal is investigating.
