BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — City sign and signal crews will be working for the next few weeks to improve traffic signals at the intersection of McCamly Street and North Avenue/6 Mile Road, beginning Friday, May 19.
Drivers can expect temporary traffic signal outages and lane shifts as crews work to fix some signal coordination issues at the intersection. They are also working on the equipment at the intersection, placing new wires and more, to improve the intersection.
Neighbors are reminded to use caution in the area, and to watch for workers and equipment during the project.
Crews will have to shut down the signals entirely for a day to complete this improvement work and will place stop signs at the intersection that day. This is expected in early June, but we will communicate an update when the date is certain.
Work hours will generally be from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Crews expect this project to be completed around June 6.
There are no expected road closures because of this work.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during all work on our city’s infrastructure.
